Help with Flickover
Support
Write to support@caffeinatedcode.co. Include your devices, the version and build from Settings › About, and what you expected to happen. A time and a screenshot can help; leave out private content.
Downloads.
Flickover for iPhone and iPad is on the App Store and requires iOS and iPadOS 26.1 or later. The Mac release is a notarized direct download for Apple silicon and requires macOS 26.1 or later; check for updates in Settings › Updates. Downloads and requirements.
Devices do not see each other.
Open Flickover on both devices and check Settings › Devices. Devices signed into the same iCloud account can discover each other without a pairing code. For Wi‑Fi, check Local Network permission and that both devices are reachable on the same network. Tailscale must be connected on both devices; first-time pairing may need a device name or address. Pair a device on a different iCloud account with a code or QR in Settings › Devices.
Send from the Mac, too.
Choose the receiving device, then drop content on the pile or use the clipboard shortcut, Share menu or Finder Quick Action. Keep Flickover open on iPhone and iPad for direct receiving: their listening connection closes in the background. iCloud can carry Flicks for devices on your account, but background delivery depends on the system. Above the default 250 MB iCloud limit, a Flick waits for a direct path. Change that limit in Settings › Devices.
Where things land.
On the Mac, files default to ~/Downloads/Flickover. Settings › Files › Choose… selects another folder and remembers the access you grant. Reveal in Finder opens the current destination. Turn off Keep a folder at all to keep future arrivals inside Flickover and use Save As… to export them. With Tag what lands enabled, files carry Flickover · Waiting; Done changes the tag to Flickover · Done.
On iPhone and iPad, look in Files › On My iPhone or On My iPad › Flickover. Settings › Files › Show landed files in the Files app controls future exports; with it off, use Share from Flickover. Contacts can be exported as .vcf files, events as .ics, rich text as .rtf and code as .txt. Links, plain text, places, colours and identifiers stay as cards unless you explicitly share or copy them.
Share, scan and extract.
In apps that support sharing, choose Flickover. The share view shows the content and destination as it prepares the flick. A large share may ask you to finish in Flickover. On iPhone and iPad, Add › Scan offers Pages for documents and Codes for QR codes and barcodes when the device and camera permissions support them. Pictures with recognized words offer Copy Text; detected links and QR codes offer actions for their content. Recognition and previews depend on the content and available system features.
Later, Done and Undo.
Later tucks a Flick away until its chosen time; find it in the Stash's Later view. Done removes it from the waiting pile and records the change immediately, with sync to other devices as connections allow. Undo is offered for ten seconds and syncs a reversal of that action. It does not undo a separate Done on another device. Done is not file deletion: saved copies remain in their destination.
Keys on the Mac.
These are the defaults. Settings › Keys changes the global shortcuts; actions below apply while the Deck is open.
- Left ⌘ Space opens and closes the Deck
- ⌘⇧S opens the Stash
- ↩ performs the card's action
- ⌘L Later
- ⌘D Done
- Space Quick Look
- ⌘⇧F flicks the clipboard
- ⌘⇧6 flicks a screenshot
- ⌘Z Undo while offered
- Esc closes the Deck
- ← → moves through the Deck
What needs Premium?
An active trial or Premium subscription is required for every new transfer in every direction, including sending to a Mac. Sending an existing Flick to another device is a new transfer. Ask your iPhone, newly scheduled timed Later and automation also require active access.
How does the trial start?
Installing or opening Flickover does not start a trial. If the purchase flow offers you a two-week full-feature trial, explicitly confirm the subscription to begin it. Read the selected plan's full renewal price and billing period before confirming. The subscription renews automatically after the trial unless cancelled. Apple decides eligibility for an App Store purchase, and Paddle's trial requires a payment method.
The purchase flow shows the offer you are confirming. Known returning subscription history uses plans without a trial; do not assume a trial is included.
What happens when access ends?
You can still use your existing Flicks in the Deck and the Stash: open, copy, save, export, search, Done and Undo remain available. Transfers already accepted can finish.
Later's Next time remains available. Cards already scheduled with a time still return. Rules pause without being deleted, and manual actions remain available. Starting another transfer, scheduling a new timed Later or running automation requires active access.
What happens to a capture that cannot be sent?
When access blocks a new transfer, Flickover saves the capture as a draft with its original destination. After purchase is confirmed, open Flickover and explicitly retry the draft. Purchase does not send it automatically or change its destination.
If saving fails, Flickover shows an error so you can retry or cancel. A capture is only saved when the app confirms it; no transfer has occurred while it is blocked.
How do I subscribe?
On iPhone and iPad, open Settings › Premium and choose Monthly or Annual. The App Store completes the purchase and sends the receipt.
On Mac, open Settings › Premium and select Continue in your browser, then choose Monthly or Annual at Paddle checkout. Paddle handles the checkout and receipt. Review the final price and renewal terms there before confirming.
One subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same iCloud account. If you have already subscribed and access is missing, check your purchase and iCloud account before starting another subscription. Contact support if the app cannot find it.
How do I manage or cancel?
For an App Store subscription, manage or cancel it in Apple Account settings on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Apple confirms the date your access ends.
For a Mac Paddle purchase, choose Manage subscription in Settings › Premium.
Opens Paddle’s customer portal in your browser. Enter the email you used at checkout and Paddle sends you a sign-in link. Cancel, update your payment method or download invoices there.
If you cannot open the portal from Flickover, use the Manage link in your Paddle receipt.
Cancelling stops renewal and keeps access until your existing trial or paid period expires. Cancellation does not restart or extend that period.
How do I check an existing purchase?
On iPhone and iPad, open Settings › Premium and use Restore Purchases. It checks App Store purchases made with the Apple Account signed in on the device, and does not restore a Paddle purchase.
Flickover uses your iCloud account to look up access across its apps. On Mac, use Check again in Settings › Premium. If access is missing, check that you are using the iCloud account associated with the purchase, then contact support. Do not buy again just to recover access.
How do I request a refund?
For an App Store purchase, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides App Store refunds.
For a Paddle purchase, contact Paddle using your receipt, or write to support@caffeinatedcode.co for help finding the right purchase. Refund requests are handled under the billing provider's terms and applicable consumer rights.
Checkout finished, but Premium has not appeared.
Return to Flickover. On iPhone and iPad use Restore Purchases in Settings › Premium; on Mac use Check again. A browser return alone does not confirm access. If it is still missing, keep your receipt and contact support@caffeinatedcode.co with your devices and app versions. Do not include payment-card details or a private subscription-management link. Do not pay again while the purchase is being checked.
Premium is missing after a purchase.
On iPhone and iPad, open Settings › Premium and use Restore Purchases. It checks App Store purchases made with the Apple Account signed in on the device. On the Mac, use Check again. Apple explains how to view and manage a subscription.
Flickover looks up access by iCloud account, so check that every device is signed into the account you bought with, then reopen Flickover and check your Premium status. If access is still missing, contact support before starting another subscription.
Include the app version and build, the purchase provider and what happened. Do not send payment-card details or private subscription-management links. Read the terms and privacy information.
