Your Flicks and devices.

Flickover stores the content you choose to send, previews, device information and status history so you can use the Deck and the Stash. Transfers can use a direct Wi‑Fi or Tailscale connection and Apple's CloudKit private database for your iCloud account. Direct transfers and iCloud sync can run together. Pairing lets you connect a device on a different iCloud account over a direct path.

Recognition and suggestions.

Text and code recognition in pictures runs on device. Summaries and suggestions use Apple's on-device models when the device, language and model availability support them. Dictation uses on-device speech recognition where supported and may download language assets from Apple. Its fallback can use Apple's speech-recognition service when on-device recognition is unavailable.

Links and maps make requests.

Making a link preview can contact the source website, follow redirects, load page images and favicons, and request a page snapshot. Supported services, including YouTube and X, may receive the link through their preview endpoints. Those services receive network requests, including the requested address and your IP address. Place search and map previews use Apple's MapKit services. These requests happen to prepare a preview, even if you do not open the link afterward.

Permissions and files.

• Local Network access lets nearby devices discover each other and transfer Flicks.
• Camera access supports photos, page scanning and code scanning where available.
• Photos, Contacts and Calendar support choosing content to send or saving it through the relevant system controls.
• Microphone and speech-recognition access support dictation. Location access supports adding your current place.
• On the Mac, Accessibility access can distinguish the left and right Command keys. Screenshot capture uses the system screenshot tool.
• Settings › Files controls file destinations. A custom Mac folder is remembered using the access permission you grant in the folder chooser.

Purchases and subscription status.

Apple processes App Store purchases on iPhone and iPad, including payment, receipts and subscription management, under Apple's own privacy policy. Flickover does not receive your payment details.

Paddle processes direct Mac checkout and billing, including the customer email address, billing and payment details supplied at checkout, and purchase records. Paddle uses these details to process payments, send receipts and provide subscription management, including email sign-in to its customer portal.

RevenueCat receives purchase history and subscription state to check Premium access and provide subscription analytics. These billing uses are separate from this website's Vercel analytics described below.

Flickover supplies RevenueCat with the opaque record name for your iCloud account as a custom user identifier to associate purchase status with that account. Opaque does not mean anonymous: the identifier links purchase information to your account.

Purchase analytics help us understand subscriptions; they are separate from advertising tracking. This billing integration is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. Subscription purchases on iPhone and iPad.

A Premium subscription bought on iPhone or iPad is processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy. Flickover does not receive your payment details. RevenueCat checks Premium access and provides subscription analytics as described above, so that one subscription can cover your iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Diagnostics and testing.

Subscription analytics are described above. Flickover keeps local diagnostic information, including Apple MetricKit reports. Send diagnostics creates an archive you can choose to share with support. Apple may also share aggregated crash and usage information from the App Store version with the developer if you have allowed it in your device settings.

Downloads and update checks.

The direct Mac app uses Sparkle to check the update feed on this website; update files are hosted on GitHub. These checks and downloads send requests to the hosting services. Settings › Updates controls automatic checks on the Mac. iPhone and iPad are installed and updated through the App Store.

This website.

Vercel hosts this website and processes requests to serve its pages. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits in aggregate, including page URL, referrer, approximate location, and browser and device details. Vercel describes a request-derived visitor hash that is discarded after 24 hours; this is not a deletion period for all analytics data. Hosting requests and logs have separate retention. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information. Download destinations have their own privacy terms.

Email and shared diagnostics.

If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send, and use them to respond and investigate the issue. Our email service processes that correspondence. Only include content you want support to see.

We keep support correspondence and voluntarily shared diagnostics for as long as needed to handle the request, investigate the reported problem and meet applicable legal obligations. We review deletion requests and retain information only where a continuing reason or legal requirement applies.

Your controls.

You can change permissions in system settings and file handling in Flickover's Settings › Files. Done changes a Flick's status; it does not erase copies saved to Finder, Files, Photos or another app. Turning off future file exports does not remove existing copies. Device and iCloud copies are separate from support correspondence and third-party hosting records. For help with data stored by Flickover or a deletion request, contact support. Privacy requests.

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Write to support@caffeinatedcode.co. You can also complain to the relevant data protection authority, including Croatia's AZOP.

Changes.

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
